Ag Expo, Michigan?s largest outdoor farm show, returns to the MSU campus July 20-?22 for the 31st time, bringing a variety of educational and commercial activities and exhibits to the state?s agricultural community as well as to homeowners, families and anyone who wants to know more about the state's second-largest industry.

On-site seed plots from commercial companies will be featured at the show, and visitors can talk with seed company representatives while perusing the companies' specialty soybean and corn hybrids.

Visitors also can take part in ride-and-drive demonstrations of compact tractors and utility tractors, and view cattle handling and chute demonstrations, stock dog training demonstrations and grain engulfment extraction simulations. Other attractions include lawn tractor and antique tractor pulls and the state FFA tractor driving contest.

Ag Expo features commercial farm equipment from throughout the Midwest and several Canadian provinces on the 35-acre main exhibition site, as well as educational exhibits from several MSU colleges and departments.

The MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) will once again present a tent full of educational activities for residents of all ages. This year?s theme is "The Science of Agriculture and Natural Resources."

The college tent will feature several educational demonstrations on topics including wind energy, financial management, farm transitions and social media. The MSU Dairy Store will offer free ice cream while accepting donations to support CANR scholarships.

"We are committed to providing quality educational activities, demonstrations and informational presentations as we have offered in years past," said Ruth Hohl Borger, Ag Expo director. "Regardless of whether you're an experienced grower or would like to become one, there's something for everyone at this year's show."

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 20 and 21, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 22. Admission to the grounds and parking at Farm Lane and Mt. Hope Road are free.
