2014 Thumb Ag Day

Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: Ubly Heights Country Club, 2409 E Atwater Rd, Ubly, MI 48475
Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and remain open until 4 p.m. for participants to view exhibits and attend educational programs. Beginning at 9 a.m., join MSU Extension District Farm Management Educator, Dennis Stein, as he discusses: “Impact of $3.00 Corn on Land Rent” followed by “Commodity Market Update” with Dr. Jim Hilker, professor, Michigan State University Department of Agriculture, Food and Resource Economics at 10 a.m. At 10:45 a.m. “Consistency & Discipline - Keys to Successful Marketing” will be presented by Market Research Analyst, Brian Basting, with Advance Trading.
The afternoon session will round out the day starting at 12:30 p.m. with “Ag Review: Results of 2014 Field Trials” by Thumb Field Crops Extension educators. Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) credits are pending from the Michigan Department of Agriculture.
Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. and is optional at $10 per person, admission otherwise is free.
