The 2015 Great Lakes Hop and Barley Conference will feature both basic and advanced educational sessions for hop growers, along with a session on barley and a malting tour. Prominent speakers from around the country will be on hand to discuss topics such as market outlook, horticultural practices, pes and disease control, harvest and post-harvest practices, nutrient management and more.
There will also be a brewer/grower networking session that focuses on hop and malt barley quality. The session will provide growers with a better idea of quality requirements and help align the supply of Michigan grown hops and malt barley with brewer needs.
The conference will feature three tracks: Hop Introductory Track, Hop Advanced Track, and Barley and Malt Track. Participants will have the ability to jump between tracks throughout the day. During the registration process, participants will be asked to select their preferred track in order to determine space needs at the facility. Anyone interested in attending the tour of Pilot Malt House should select the Barley and Malt Track.
Registration is $150.00/person and $125.00/person for farms or companies sending three or more people.
