An educational program delivering research and industry updates for Michigan winter wheat. Registration opens at 8:15 a.m., followed by a greeting from Jody Pollok-Newsom, executive director of the Michigan Wheat Program. Wagon tours of research plots follow at 8:50 a.m., where visitors will hear from MSU researchers regarding their work on pest control, fertilization, disease, breeding, weed control and crop rotation. An unmanned aeriel vehicle demonstration will follow at 11:30 a.m., weather permitting. Lunch will be provided at noon, accompanied by updates on the wheat market. The event will close with a combine clinic at 1 p.m. Visitors are also invited to drive 1.5 miles to the variety trial performance sites.
