The 25th Annual MSU Viticulture Field Day will be held on Wednesday, July 30 at the MSU Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center near Benton Harbor, Mich. This day-long event features numerous topics of interest to grape growers. Because this is the 25th Annual Field Day, there will be some “futuristic” topics to illustrate how grape growing might exist in another 25 years. Demonstrations of equipment will include a sprayer capable of spraying 300 acres of vineyard in an 8-hour work day, a grapevine planter guided by GPS telemetry with an accuracy of 1”, and possibly drone mapping of vineyards. A trade show of equipment occurs throughout the day and ten workshops cover a range of Viticultural topics. The day concludes with a showcase of Southwest Michigan wines and a steak cookout.
Registration forms received by July 16 receive an early-bird discount.
