Southwest Hort Days 2015 will be held February 4th and 5th, at Lake Michigan College’s Mendel Center in Benton Harbor, Michigan; hosted by the Michigan Grape Society, Michigan State University Extension and Lake Michigan College.

There will be a trade show located in the Grand Upton Hall, and a raffle drawing for prizes donated by trade show vendors and Michigan State University. Educational sessions will be offered and will include RUP credits. The educational sessions on vegetable production will include insect pest management, pollinator management, and diagnosing disease and nutrient management issues. Tree fruit sessions will be focused on weed and soil nutrient issues. One wine grape session and two combined grape sessions will include discussion on ground management, emerging pest issues, wine quality, and continuing recovery from the 2013/2014 winter injury. Blueberry educational sessions will also be offered.MSU Extension educators, fruit growers, and university researchers will give the educational sessions.

Pre-registration is by mail and is $25; on-site registration is $30. Informational mailing and registration form will be sent out to previous attendees soon, please call if you want this mailing and haven’t received it by the first week of January. Lunch is included in registration.
