The history, chemistry and biochemistry of beer provide a rich platform for chemical education. This talk, from University of Oklahoma doctoral candidate Nick Godman, will cover general concepts of fermentation and alcohol metabolism; some of the mechanisms that occur to generate flavor and color components of beer; and how the speaker used those concepts during course instruction. Educators, chemists and beer enthusiasts alike will enjoy this unique presentation.

Light refreshments will be served. This talk is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Please register here.
