Trevor Nichols Research Center (Est. 1967)
Michigan fruit producers are in competition with more than 30 fruit pests that threaten to eat their crops before they can be harvested. Finding the best ways to keep fruit pest-free in Michigan while preserving the environment and ensuring economic viability for the state’s fruit growers is the objective of the 156-acre Trevor Nichols Research Center. The center supports IR-4, a program that works with growers and chemical companies to register products for use on specialty crops, including reduced-risk pesticides. It also provides growers and pest management decision makers with hands-on integrated pest management and pest scout training and education.
TNRC Field Day
Extension event will show results of 2012 field research
We will be having a research field day at the Trevor Nichols Research Center on Tuesday, September 25 from 1 PM to 4 PM. The field day will focus on insect and disease research and efficacy trials that were carried out this season by Larry Gut, Rufus Isaacs, Annemiek Schilder, George Sundin, Mark Whalon and John Wise. The TNRC is located at 6237 124th Ave. in Fennville, MI.
